Almas is Arabic for diamond – is to be built as a part of the DMCC's 300-hectare development site opposite the Dubai Marina on the Sheikh Zayed Road
the 56-floor tower will be the focal point of diamond trade, housing the Dubai Diamond Exchange. The dramatic glass skyscraper located at the centre of DMCC will provide a base for the large numbers of local and international companies expected to establish operations at the impressive facility by 2005. Built as an ever-decreasing spiralling cylinder that soars towards the sky with a number of elegant spires, the tower plays with geometrical design and light up to create a delight for the eye, surrounded by a lake in the centre of the DMCC development.
Almas Tower – The Jewel of Arabia
Situated in the heart of Dubai's new developments and set on an island surrounded by
the icturesque Jumeirah Lakes Towers, the Almas Tower is poised to be a precious
jewel on the Dubai skyline. Almas means diamond in Arabic – fitting for a 63 storey
landmark tower that has been designed to cater to the precise needs of the industry.
As the focal point for the 79 tower development on Sheikh Zayed Road, the iconic glass
tower is a clear vision of the future. Shining amidst beautifully landscaped gardens,
lakes and water features, the Almas Tower provides the ultimate in prestige for
visionary businesses.
The Almas Tower is available exclusively for DMCC members in the commodities trade
sectors. A first for the region, this commercial property is open for purchase on a
freehold basis. DMCC members can enjoy the unique benefits of owning both their
business operations and their business premises.
The glittering Almas Tower will provide the perfect setting in which to conduct business,
allowing the world’s leading precious commodity-related businesses an unmatched
opportunity to capitalise on the lucrative regional market.
A hub of industry activity
The region’s only diamond bourse, the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), will be housed
in the Almas Tower. Established to capitalise on the rapidly growing trade flow of
diamonds through the Middle East, DDE, a World Federation of Diamond Bourses member,
presents a tremendous opportunity for local, regional and international diamond traders.
By facilitating the trade of both rough and polished diamonds, DDE is set to power Dubai
into the ranks of the world’s leading diamond centres.
The Exchange facilities will offer a modern and relaxing atmosphere with high security
levels and all necessary facilities including a Diamond Vault, for the trade. The exchange
facilities will also include an Exclusive Club Lounge, a Serviced Business Centre and
dining facilities for diamond exchange traders and members.
Located on the second floor of the Almas Tower and accessible from the main entrance
lobby, the Exchange offers fabulous lake views.
Unique office design
The specific needs of the precious commodities trade have been realized through
the creative design of the Almas Tower. Catering to small, medium and large market
participants, the tower is divided into multi-tenant floors, accommodating eight or nine
offices of average size, and single tenant floors for larger businesses.
The Tower is further divided into four zones – low rise, medium rise, high rise and
the tower summit, each of which can be easily and quickly accessed by separate lift
banks of four passenger lifts each. The tower summit is exclusively accessible from
the 48th-floor Sky Lobby, adding an additional level of security.
While creative thinking has led the design of the purpose-built tower, functionality for
businesses has been foremost at mind. Special attention has been given to the selection
of materials, finishing and colours to both enhance the exposure and functionality of the
building and to offer a unique business experience.
Each office unit is positioned to allow extensive views of the sea, the impressive
surrounding towers and/or the Jumeirah Islands development. North light enhanced
units are available and clearly marked. Directions are highlighted on floor plans to
allow for ease of planning for feng shui and vastu enthusiasts.
Each office can accommodate a maximum 2 tonnes safe with additional hot zones
designed to take the load of strong rooms of 2 square metres.
Allowing freedom and flexibility of individual office design, the units will be delivered as
a ‘core and shell’. Shared services are available on each floor, including washrooms,
pantries and service rooms. Specific floors are available with extra possibilities for wet
points catering to tenants wishing to build their own facilities within their office unit.
Almas Tower (Almas meaning ‘diamond’ in Arabic) is a landmark building, purpose built to cater to the specific needs of the diamond industry. The 65-floor tower will be the focal point of DMCC’s development. With its dramatic glass design and spiraling theme situated on an island surrounded by water, the Almas Tower will be a unique addition to Dubai’s skyline.
The Tower will house the regions only diamond exchange - the Dubai Diamond Exchange. This impressive building will also accommodate hi-tech security systems and secure vaulting facilities for its occupants.
Office space in the tower will be available on a freehold option and the tower is due for completion by end of 2007.
